WESA exists to organise, regulate and authorise competition across three recognised disciplines. From Lausanne, the association maintains the rulebooks and equipment classes, licenses officials and athletes, sanctions national and international events, and upholds a single set of integrity and safety standards for every competition held under its authority.

Admission criteria
Legal standing
A single non-profit national body, legally incorporated in its territory, recognised as the sole representative for electronic and robotic sport in that country.
Governance and statutes
Published statutes, an elected board, annual general assembly, term limits and no conflict of interest between governance and commercial team ownership.
Rulebook adoption
Formal adoption of the WESA competition rulebook, equipment classes and robot safety standards across all three disciplines.
Integrity and fair play
Anti-doping compliance, anti-match-fixing and anti-cheat policy, disciplinary procedure and an independent appeals route.
Athlete and minor protection
Safeguarding policy, licensed athlete registry, contract minimums, mental-health support and duty of care for competitors under 18.
National competition
An operating national championship or ranking series in at least two of the three disciplines, feeding qualified athletes and teams into the WESA circuit.
Technical and safety capacity
Certified officials, robot safety inspection capability, insured venues and arena containment standards for physical events.
Financial transparency
Audited annual accounts, declared funding sources and payment of the annual membership contribution.
